This is a 100% natural product pressed from the seeds of the dog rose (Rosa canina), a wild rose species native to Europe, western Asia and northwest Africa. The oil has a light texture, a specific smell and a bitter taste. It is used in traditional medicine and cosmetics due to a range of health benefits.

Composition (useful substances).

Rose hip seed oil is high in essential fatty acids such as linoleic acid (omega-6) and linolenic acid (omega-3). The oil also contains carotenoids (provitamin A), ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and tocopherol (vitamin E). Vitamins C and E are natural antioxidants that neutralise free radicals and prevent premature skin ageing. Rose hip oil also contains minerals such as copper, molybdenum, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and manganese.

Properties and application. In traditional medicine, rose hip oil is used as a remedy for atherosclerosis, cholecystitis, hepatitis, gastritis, and vitamin deficiency. It is also used to boost the immune system and improve overall health. Rose hip seed oil can also be applied topically to treat minor burns.

Dog rose oil can be used as a skincare product. It is great for taking care of dry and mature skin. The oil soothes irritated skin, normalises sebum secretion, protects the skin from harmful environmental factors, stimulates its regeneration, and improves skin cell metabolism. It also eliminates the signs of fatigue, improves complexion and reduces fine lines. Rose hip oil is suitable for the delicate skin around the eyes.

Directions

Can be applied as is, mixed with other vegetable and/or essential oils or added to store-bought cosmetic products. Absorbs well without leaving the skin feeling sticky or greasy.

Hypersensitivity or intolerance. Oily skin with acne.
