Recommendations for use

Before use, rinse the inhaler with warm running water. In the funnel-shaped end of the tube, pour in (it is convenient to do with a syringe) the required amount of essential oil (usually 4 to 5 drops per 2 ml of water) or alcohol tincture (2 ml). The inhaler is ready for use. If the essential oil is left in the inhaler that is used by one person, the opening of the device can be closed with cork (in order to avoid evaporation of the oil) until the next procedure. Before using the inhaler with another person, or if you need to change the essential oil, wash the inhaler with 96% alcohol and warm running water. For disinfection the device can be boiled for 3 to 5 minutes.

Inhalation by mouth. The mouthpiece of Mahold's inhaler is taken with a mouth like a smoking pipe and drawn in air. Breathe in with your mouth, breathe out with your nose. Do not breathe out with your mouth inside the inhaler, because the mixture will burst out. The first 5-6 breaths should be shallow. To enhance the effect, it is recommended to lower the lower part of the inhaler into a container with hot water (50-60 C).

Inhalation of the nose. The nozzle for the nose is put on the mouthpiece of the inhaler with a rubber adapter. To make it easier to put on a rubber adapter, moisten the end of the mouthpiece. The nozzle attached to the inhaler should be pressed tightly to the nose. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. After use, boil in soapy water (3-5 minutes), rinse and dry. For efficiency of inhalations, the lower part of the apparatus should be placed in a cup of hot water of the temperature you need.

If the doctor did not specify otherwise, the procedure is performed every 2-4 hours for 4-5 minutes. If necessary, inhalation can be repeated after 1-2 hours. If dosage is not indicated, use no more than 3-5 drops of essential oil. Elderly people and children under 10 years - 1-2 drops, duration of inhalation - 1-2 minutes. After inhalation, it is better to rest (1-1.5 hours). Within 40-60 minutes after the procedure, essential oils continue to have an effect on the inflamed mucous membranes, therefore, during the specified time it is better to refuse to eat.

Treatment continues as long as signs of the disease persist. The duration of the course should not exceed 30 days. The break between the courses is not less than 10-14 days. For prophylactic purposes, you can do inhalation once a day.

Precautionary measures

- Before the procedure it is necessary to conduct a test for the absence of an allergic reaction to the inhalation fluid used (essential oil, alcohol tinctures of medicinal plants).

- Dosages and duration of inhalations should be strictly observed, as well as the duration of the course of treatment;

- inhalation should not be carried out immediately after a meal or physical exertion, it is necessary to wait at least 1-2 hours;

- After the inhalation should be rest for 15-20 minutes (30-40 minutes in the cold season);

- after the inhalation should not strain the vocal cords and smoke for 1-2 hours.
