Aroma:

woody, fresh, slightly bitter, balsamic, reminds sandal wood, but more dry.

Obtained by:

cedar essential oil is obtained from wood of evergreen tree Red cedar/Red cedar juniper (Juniperus virginiana L.) of Cupressaceae family by using method of steam distillation.

Characteristics:

sedative, antidepressant; increases mental and physical ativity; antiseptic, bactericidal, antiviral, antifungal, immunostimulant; improves microcirculation in tissues, wound-healing; spasmolytic, analgetic, anti-inflammatory, decongestant, antipodagric, antirheumatic; antitussive, expectorant; stimulates appetite and digestion, removes stagnation in digestive tract, helps to clear the body of wastes, soft cholagogue, astringent, diuretic; stimulates menstruation; reduces secretion of sebaceous glands, stimulates skin regeneration and hair growth, removes dandruff; repellent.

Properties of oil:

viscous, colorless, light yellow or light brown liquid with a mild balsamic very resistant cedar smell. Partially solidifies at room temperature.

Blend with other oils:

bergamot oil, lemon oil, hyssop oil, common sage oil, jasmine oil, cypress oil, cinnamon oil, lavender oil, frankincense oil, juniper oil, neroli oil, rose oil, rosemary oil.

Ways of using, dosage:

massage: 4-6 drops per 10 ml of vegetable base oil;
pressure point massage: 1 drop of essential oil per 1 drop of vegetable base oil;
aroma bath: 4-7 drops per bath;
rubbing: 4-7 drops per 5-10 ml of vegetable base oil;
vaporization in aroma lamp: 4-7 drops per 15 m2;
hot inhalations: 1-2 drops per 1-2 litres of hot water;
cosmetics enrichment: 4-5 drops per 10 grams of base (cream, shampoo, gel, liquid soap, etc.).

Cautions:

do not use during pregnancy, for children up to 5 years old, then procedures are carried considering age dosages (look at the inset), do not use while increased nervous irritability, epilepsy and acute inflammatory processes in the kidneys (pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis), hypertonic.

Storage:

essential oils are stored in tightly closed dark glass bottles in indoor temperature in place inaccessible to children. Protect from light.
