This is a 100% natural product extracted from the flowers of the pot marigold (Calendula officinalis). Pot marigold, also known as common marigold or Scotch marigold, is widely used in traditional medicine due to its antibacterial, antiseptic and soothing properties. Calendula oil is perfect for taking care of problem and sensitive skin.

Composition (useful substances)

Calendula oil is rich in essential fatty acids. Its fatty acid composition depends on the carrier oil that has been used for extraction. The petals of pot marigold flowers are rich in flavonol glycosides, triterpene glycosides, saponins, and carotenoids such as auroxanthin and flavoxanthin. Carotenoids produce an antioxidant effect and give the oil its distinctive yellow-orange colouration.

Properties and application

Calendula oil has a softening, sun-protection, regenerative, healing, antiseptic, bactericidal, and anti-inflammatory effect. It is suitable for all skin types, including babies’ delicate and sensitive skin. The oil tightens pores and normalises sebum secretion, which makes it perfect for taking care of oily and problem skin.

Calendula oil helps to restore the skin’s natural complexion, strengthens hair and nails, stimulates hair growth, and speeds up the healing of minor skin injuries.

Directions

Can be applied as is, mixed with other vegetable and/or essential oils or added to store-bought cosmetic products. Absorbs well without leaving the skin feeling sticky or greasy.
